I bought 20 double brooder units from Game Bird Engineering in 2015 having previously used wooden sheds, both 8×8 and other larger wooden units. The new units are a complete change to the amout of work needed to rear birds. The whole system is well tried and tested and does more than we had hoped it too. They produce cracking good birds. The savings in labour, feed and gas are very noticeable both day to day and on the bottom line at the end of the year. I have ordered another 20 units for 2016.

I had the new units from Chris Bird last year. The kit arrived as promised and was easy to assemble. It is exceptionally well designed and made. It will last 20 years or more no doubt about that. The automatic temperature control works as promised there is nothing to alter neither heaters or windows. This means the birds can be confidently left for a few hours with nothing to go wrong. I have reared birds for many years and this system is exceptionally well thought out and made. The most important thing to me is the quality of the birds produced and these units produced the best birds I have ever reared. I have ordered more shed for next season. We first tried the Game Bird Engineering rearing system in 2015. Having spoken to Chris we were convinced it was well tried and tested and that proved to be the case. The units are very well thought out with all the steel sheets arriving on site cut to size. The galvanised frames are very good the will last years. The heating system is an excellent idea. You wouldn’t run your central heating then open the windows because its too hot so why do people do it with pheasants? We purchased the drinkers and these have been the best we’ve used too. Simple to set up, no cleaning during use and no leaks. I can’t recomend the system highly enough. We have purchased another 12 units for 2016 and we will switch to rearing all our birds in these units as soon as we can.
